Bridgewater and Keegan Strike Gold at OBU Invite

SHAWNEE, Okla. – On Friday and Saturday, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma track and field team competed at the OBU Invite, hosted by Oklahoma Baptist University.

Aljani Bridgewater (SR/St. Kitts and Nevis) qualified for the NAIA National Championship with a national "A" standard time of 52.92 in the men's 400-meter hurdles. His tremendous performance earned him 1st place in the event, and it is also the top time in the NAIA so far this season.

Dylan Keegan also shined on Saturday, earning a 1st place finish in the men's 5000-meter event, with a time of 16:02.24.

The men's 4x400-meter team of Kalique St. Jean (JR/Antigua), Kemoy Willis (SR/Jamaica), Quintin Pennells (SO/Johannesburg, South Africa), and Aljani Bridgewater opened the outdoor season with a time of 3:18.99, which earned them 2nd place, and it's the No. 4 time in the NAIA this season.

After a great indoor season, Quintin Pennells opened the outdoor season with a time of 48.98 in the men's 400-meter race, earning himself a 4th-place finish.

Aarin Simon earned an 11th-place finish in the men's 800-meter run, with a time of 1:58.80. Brian Kemboi followed closely behind with a time of 2:05.59, and Brian Kipkosgei ran a time of 2:06.10 in the men's 800.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Drovers will return to competition on Friday, April 1 when they open competition at day one of the Friends University Open in Wichita, Kan.
