Davlakou Scores 30 as USAO Opens the Season with a Road-Win at UNT Dallas
DALLAS, Texas – Saturday afternoon, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (1-0, 0-0 SAC) opened the 2025-26 season with an 83-66 road-victory at University of North Texas at Dallas (0-1, 0-0 RRAC). In head-to-head matchups, the Drovers own a 7-2 record against their former conference foe. UNT Dallas used to be a member of the Sooner Athletic Conference, alongside the Drovers, but they are now in the Red River Athletic Conference.
The Drovers jumped out to an early lead and possess a 13-7 advantage midway through the opening quarter. USAO held strong and controlled a 28-20 lead at the end of the first. USAO kept rolling and led by nine midway through the second quarter, prior to taking a 50-34 lead into the break.
Following halftime, the Drovers continued to extend their lead by outscoring the Trailblazers 22-16 in the third quarter. USAO took a 72-50 advantage into the fourth quarter, but UNT Dallas did not quit and outscored the Drovers in the final 10 minutes. However, it was nowhere near enough for the Trailblazers to overcome USAO's large lead.
USAO's offense closed the game shooting 25-48 (.521) from the field, 9-15 (.600) from beyond the arc, and 24-33 (.727) from the free-throw line. In comparison, UNT Dallas shot 21-70 (.300) from the field, 5-33 (.152) from deep, and 19-31 (.613) from the charity stripe.
The Drovers scored 26 points in the paint and hauled in 48 rebounds. In comparison, the Trailblazers scored 18 points in the paint and grabbed 32 rebounds.
USAO committed 31 turnovers, which led to 25 points for UNTD. Meanwhile, the Trailblazers fumbled the ball 19 times, resulting in 21 points for the Drovers.
USAO was whistled for 23 fouls, while UNTD was called for 26 violations.
The Drovers were led by Evangelia Davlakou's 30-point performance. The point guard from Greece shot 9-16 from the field, including 5-7 from beyond the arc. Furthermore, Davlakou grabbed eight rebounds, dished three assists, and stole the ball six times on defense.
Pashonnay Johnson was superb in her Drover debut, scoring 16 points on 4-7 shooting from the field, including 2-3 from deep. Johnson hauled in seven rebounds and distributed a pair of assists.
Nyapar Mathot contributed seven points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals.
Trinity Humphrey added nine points and a pair of assists in 24 minutes off the bench. Chaniya Dooly-Felton added seven points in 13 minutes off the bench. Ti'Alone Banks scored five points, followed by Jordyn Rollins with three, and Hannah Harris with two. Rollins grabbed five rebounds and Harris hauled in seven boards.

The Drovers will return to action on Friday, Nov. 7 as they travel to Goodwell, Okla. for a neutral site game against Northern New Mexico College at the OPSU Classic. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 PM CT inside Anchor D. Arena.
