Efficient Shooting Leads USAO Past Central Christian
CHICKASHA, Okla. – Thursday night, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (17-6, 12-5 SAC) continued their winning ways with a 76-66 triumph against Central Christian College (6-16, 2-14 SAC). With the win, the Drovers improve to 18-0 against the Tigers in head-to-head matchups since Dec. 2017.
The first quarter was evenly matched with USAO holding a slim 19-16 advantage after 10 minutes of action. The Drovers outscored the Tigers 18-12 in the second quarter and controlled a 37-28 lead going into the break.
Following halftime, the Drovers picked up the pace, outscoring the Tigers 23-15 in the third quarter and possessed a 60-43 lead going into the final 10 minutes of regulation. However, Central Christian made things interesting in the fourth by outscoring USAO 23-16, but it was not enough to climb themselves out of the hole they dug early on.
USAO's offense closed the game shooting 27-52 (.519) from the field, 5-13 (.385) from beyond the arc, and 17-28 (.607) from the free-throw line. In comparison, CCC shot 24-83 (.289) from the field, 12-38 (.316) from deep, and 6-11 (.545) from the charity stripe.
The Drovers scored 40 points in the paint and hauled in 47 rebounds. In comparison, the Tigers scored 16 points in the paint and grabbed 37 rebounds.
USAO committed 23 turnovers, resulting in 18 points for CCC, while the Tigers fumbled the ball 10 times, leading to six points for the Drovers. USAO was whistled for 12 fouls, while Tigers was called for 22 violations.
Evangelia Davlakou led the Drover offense with an 18-point performance in only 19 minutes off the bench. Davlakou shot 4-8 from the field, including 2-3 from deep, and 8-11 at the free-throw line.
Mya Brown added 13 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals. Nyapar Mathot finished with nine points and 11 rebounds, while Jordyn Rollins scored nine points and grabbed 10 boards. Chaniya Felton closed with nine points and five rebounds.
Ti'Alone Banks added seven points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Trinity Humphrey scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out three assists. Mattie Rich knocked down a three pointer in six minutes off the bench.

The Drovers will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 7 as they travel to Langston University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM CT in Langston, Okla.
