Drovers Enter National Tournament as No. 3 Seed in Bartlesville Bracket
KANSAS CITY, Okla. – Monday morning, the NAIA announced the qualifiers for the Women's Soccer National Championship, and the Drovers were selected as a No. 3 seed in the Bartlesville, Okla. bracket. Rounding out the bracket is Oklahoma Wesleyan University as the No. 1 seed, Grace College (Ind.) as the No. 2 seed, and Hastings College (Neb.) as the No. 4 seed.
The first and second rounds of the tournament are scheduled for Nov. 17-19 and will have a single day of rest between the first game and the championship. The 2022 NAIA National Championship Second Round winners will meet up in Orange Beach, Ala., at the NAIA National Championship final site event. The 39th annual championship takes place at the Orange Beach Sportsplex November 29 – December 5, 2022.
The Drovers used their overall record of 16-2-1 and conference record of 9-0 to receive an at-large bid into the tournament. The appearance in the national tournament is the seventh in program history (2011, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022).
USAO claimed the SAC regular season championship for the fourth time, after going perfect through conference-play, for the first time in program history. For their incredible performances in the historic season, Emma Rice (SR/Norman, OK) was selected as the SAC Player of the Year for the third time, Alicia Rey (SO/Valladolid, Spain) earned her first SAC Offensive Player of the Year award, Luna Knoester (FR/Pijnacker, Netherlands) was selected as the Freshman of the Year, and Jimmy Hampton was awarded with his 10th Coach of the Year honor.
