Drovers Stumble on the Road at #20 Texas Wesleyan
FORT WORTH, Texas – Thursday evening, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (4-3, 1-2 SAC) made the trip to the Lone Star State and suffered a 3-set loss at No. 20 Texas Wesleyan University (7-4, 2-1 SAC).
Texas Wesleyan got off to a hot start and owned a 13-6 lead midway through the opening set, and went on to win the set 25-13. However, USAO responded well out of the break and took an early lead in the second set, but the Rams rallied their way to a 25-12 victory in the set, and a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
TWU took an early lead in the third set and cruised to a 25-13 triumph to wrap up the match.
As a team, Texas Wesleyan was extremely efficient and effective on offense, putting away 44 kills on a .326 attack percentage. In comparison, USAO only produced 14 kills on a -.035 clip. The Rams were tremendous on defense, recording 50 digs and 5.0 total blocks, while the Drovers only had 29 digs and 5.0 total blocks.

The Drovers will conclude their Texas road trip in Waxahachie for a showdown at No. 24 ranked SAGU at 1:00 PM CT on Saturday, September 9.
