USAO VOLLEYBALL: Year in Review 2025-26

In 2025, the Drover volleyball team produced their best season in program history, setting a new wins record with a 17-15 mark overall. They also finished at an even 11-11 in conference play. USAO finished the regular season in eighth place in the SAC standings and made their fifth consecutive SAC Tournament appearance. USAO also earned three SAC Player of the Week honors (Ytzel Garcia 2x Setter of the Week, Brynlee Birney Defensive Player of the Week).

This year, USAO Volleyball showed major growth compared to last year, both on and off the court. Under second year head coach Robert Blakley, the team became more competitive, improved its team chemistry, and developed a stronger identity. Comparing last year's struggles with consistency, this season the Drovers played with more confidence, energy, and resilience during tough matches. The team improved statistically once again setting records in Kills, Aces, Blocks and Assists allowing for a much more productive offense and aggressive defense.

When asked about the year in hindsight, coach Robert Blakley said, "I love our statistical growth, but we still have an identity that hasn't fully evolved into my expectations… but each year we get a step closer and player leadership is prime to set the standard for the coming season".
